What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a long-lasting health condition that affects the process of the body changing food into energy. The body mechanism helps the food to break into sugar, which is then released into the bloodstream, which then signals the pancreas to release insulin. Insulin acts as a basis to let the blood sugar be used as energy. When there isn’t enough insulin in the body then cells stop responding to the blood sugar to use it as emery. This failure to respond to the blood sugar increases the blood sugar in the body which affects adversely causing various problems like heart diseases, vision loss, and kidney problems.
Sign of diabetes
A blood sugar level less than 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) is considered to be normal. But if the reading of more than 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L) after two hours means you have diabetes. In such a situation it is advisable to see a medical doctor. Low blood sugar can happen during sleep. It can wake you up during the night or cause headaches, tiredness, or damp sheets due to heavy sweat.
A high blood sugar level is a condition when the level of sugar in the blood is high than required. Speaking in medical terms it is called hyperglycaemic. It is a medical condition and must be consulted by a medical doctor and treated immediately. Common causes include:
1) being unwell
2) feeling stressed
3) eating too much sugary or starchy food 4) being less active than usual
5) missing doses of diabetes medicine
Type of diabetes
Type I diabetes: In this condition, the body stops making insulin. It is most commonly found in teens, children, and adults. In this situation, it is advised to take insulin on a daily basis to meet the needs.
Type II diabetes: In this condition, the body doesn’t function properly, and the use of insulin the irregular which in turn the blood sugar level is not maintained. This is the most common form of diabetes affecting 90-95% of diabetic patients. Type II diabetes can be kept in check or delayed by adopting a few healthy lifestyle changes such as
- Eating healthy food
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Being active
- Diet Chart: One must be aware of what one consumes. Since each one of us has a different palate so I would list what food one must avoid and what should be preferred.

Consuming heavy drinks, particularly in diabetics, also can cause the accumulation of certain acids in the blood which results in severe health consequences. Alcohol consumption worsens diabetes-related medical problems. Consuming alcohol disturbs fat metabolism, nerve damage, and eye disease.
Is beer good for diabetes?
Beer and sweet wine contain carbohydrates which result in increased blood sugar levels. Beer increases the appetite which tends the person to overeat. Overeating results in increased calories and blood sugar in the body.
